Compatibility of the CO and H I linewidths considering the gas distribution and rotation curves

چکیده
We have found the trend between CO and Hi linewidths by compiling the CO and Hi linewidths of 219 nearby galaxies. The trend is that the CO linewidths of fast rotating galaxies tend to be larger than the Hi linewidths, and that the Hi linewidths of slow rotating galaxies tend to be larger than the CO linewidths, whereas the intermediately rotating galaxies have almost equal values. We have examined the trend using the synthetic rotation curve model given by Persic et al. (1996), which provides the linewidth – absolute magnitude relations at any radii. We conclude that the trend is produced by the differences in CO and HI distributions in a galaxy and the gradient of a rotation curve that depends on the luminosity of the galaxy. We should note that the distribution of the tracer of linewidths (e.g. CO, Hi) and the gradient of rotation curves influence observed linewidths, therefore the exact linewidths should be corrected for them.

Comparison of Dispersion of Air Pollutants Carbon Monoxide and Unburned Hydrocarbon Gases in Combustion Chamber of Gas and Gasoline Cars in the Years 2009-2013 in Shiraz
Gasoline fuel vehicles cause emissions of airborne pollutants that are poisonous and have a deleterious effect on human health and the environment while natural gas fuels have less harmful effects on the environment and humans due to their greater environmental compatibility. The propose of this study is to investigate the concentration of CO, HC, O2 in the exhaust outlet of gas and diesel cars...
متن کاملOptical Rotation Curves and Linewidths for Tully - Fisher Applications
We present optical long-slit rotation curves (RCs) for 304 northern Sb-Sc UGC galaxies originally selected for Tully-Fisher (TF) applications. Matching r-band photometry exists for each galaxy. We describe the procedures of RC extraction and construction of optical profiles analogous to 21cm integrated linewidths. More than 20% of the galaxies were observed twice or more, allowing for a proper ...
متن کاملEvaluation of New MOND Interpolating Function with Rotation Curves of Galaxies
The rotation curves of a sample of 46 low- and high-surface brightness galaxies are considered in the context of Milgrom's modi_ed dynamics (MOND) to test a new interpolating function proposed by Zhao et al. (2010) [1] and compare with the results of simple interpolating function. The predicted rotation curves are calculated from the total baryonic matter based on the B-band surface photometry,...
متن کاملGas-liquid Relative Permeability Estimation in 2D Porous Media by Lattice Boltzmann Method: Low Viscosity Ratio 2D LBM Relative Permeability
This work is a primary achievement in studying the CO2 and N2–oil systems. To predict gas-liquid relative permeability curves, a Shan-Chen type multicomponent multiphase lattice Boltzmann model for two-phase flow through 2D porous media is developed. Periodic and bounce back boundary conditions are applied to the model with the Guo scheme for the external body force (i.e.,...
متن کاملLaminar Flame Speed Prediction in Lean Mixture of Aluminum Dust Clouds by Considering the Effect of Random Distribution of Particles in Two-dimension
In the present study, the effect of random distribution of reactants and products on laminar, 2D and steady-state flame propagation in aluminium particles has been investigated. The equations are solved only for lean mixture. The flame structure is assumed to consist of a preheat zone, a reaction zone and a post flame zone. It is presumed that in the preheat zone particles are heated an...
